Editorial Policy
Last updated
Readers trust Princhet Infotech to give them careful, honest information. This policy explains the standards we hold ourselves to: how we research and write, how we stay independent, and what we do when we get something wrong.
Originality
Every article we publish is original work, written for Princhet Infotech. We do not copy or lightly rewrite other publications' articles. When we draw on someone else's research, reporting or ideas, we credit and link to them. Short quotations are clearly marked and attributed.
Research and sources
We build our articles on primary and authoritative sources wherever possible. Depending on the subject, these include:
- official bodies, regulators and government agencies;
- peer-reviewed research and recognised professional organisations;
- original documentation, specifications and statements from manufacturers or service providers;
- established reference works and reputable news organisations.
We prefer recent sources, and we check whether a claim still holds before repeating it. We link to our key sources so readers can verify what we say and read further. Where the evidence is limited, disputed or still developing, we say so plainly rather than overstating certainty.
Extra care for health and money topics
Some subjects can significantly affect a reader's health, finances, safety or wellbeing. For these topics we apply additional care:
- We rely on authoritative sources, such as public health bodies, clinical guidance, financial regulators and official tax authorities, rather than anecdote or marketing material.
- We clearly separate established evidence from opinion, emerging research and personal experience.
- We avoid sensational headlines, miracle claims and promises of guaranteed results.
- We explain risks, limitations and situations where a reader should seek professional help.
- We remind readers that our content is general information, not personal medical or financial advice, and point to our Disclaimer.
No fabricated data
We never invent statistics, quotes, studies, test results, expert opinions, reviews or personal experiences. Figures we cite come from identifiable sources. Illustrative examples, such as a sample budget or a worked calculation, are clearly presented as examples rather than real data.
How we describe products and services
When an article discusses or compares products or services, we explain the criteria we used, for example features, price, ease of use, safety, durability, support or value for money. We base our descriptions on research into specifications, official documentation, independent testing where available, and our own use where we have it.
We are honest about the limits of our evaluation. If we have not tested a product hands-on, we say so. We never describe a product as tested, used or reviewed by us unless we actually have. Prices and availability change, so we encourage readers to check details with the seller.
Independence from advertisers
Princhet Infotech is funded in part by advertising. Our editorial decisions are made independently of it:
- Advertisers have no influence on what we cover, how we cover it, or what conclusions we reach.
- We do not accept payment for coverage, rankings or favourable opinions.
- Advertisements are clearly labelled "Advertisement" and kept visibly separate from editorial content.
- Ads are served by third parties such as Google; we do not choose individual ads, and their appearance is not an endorsement.
We do not currently publish sponsored content or use affiliate links. If we ever do, it will be clearly disclosed in the relevant post, and it will not change our editorial judgement.
Updates and dated content
Every article shows the date it was last updated. We review articles periodically, and especially when laws, guidance, prices, products or circumstances change. When we update an article substantially, we revise its date. Some content, such as current affairs coverage, reflects the situation at the time of writing and is dated accordingly.
Corrections
We aim to get things right, and we take mistakes seriously when they happen. If you believe something we have published is inaccurate, please email info@princhetinfotech.com with the page address, the passage concerned and, if possible, a source.
- We review every correction request we receive.
- When we confirm an error, we correct it promptly.
- Where a correction is significant, for example a factual error that could affect a reader's understanding or decisions, we add a note to the article explaining what was changed.
- Minor fixes, such as typos or broken links, may be made without a note.
Use of AI tools
AI tools may assist us with parts of our work, such as research, organising information or drafting. However, every article is reviewed, fact-checked and edited by a human editor before publication. A human is responsible for the accuracy and final wording of everything we publish. We do not publish unreviewed AI-generated content, and we check any facts, figures or sources an AI tool suggests against reliable original sources.
Images
We use images that we are licensed or permitted to use. Many photographs come from Unsplash and are used under the Unsplash License, and we credit photographers where possible. Images are chosen to illustrate a subject; unless stated, a photograph is not a picture of the specific product, person or place discussed. We do not use images in a misleading way.
